Dinamo signs a test contract with a Latvian defender from the NCAA

Continental Hockey League (KHL) club Riga “Dinamo” has signed a test agreement with Latvian defender Jānis Jaku.

Last season, the 25-year-old hockey player represented the NCAA team American Int’l College, in which he scored six goals, nine assists, six penalties and a negative -1 in 33 matches.

At the NCAA level, Jaks played a total of 135 games, in which he threw 23 puck, returned 40 passes and earned a negative utility -24.

At the end of March this year, James signed a contract with the American Hockey League (AHL) club Bakersfield “Condors”, which is the Farmers’ Club of the National Hockey League (NHL) Edmonton “Oilers”.

Before going to North America Yak 2013/2014. He represented the Youth Hockey League (MHL) team HK “Rīga” in the 2006 season, where he made one pass in 38 main tournament games, but scored two (1 + 1) points in ten “play-off” fights.

Jaks has represented the Latvian national team in one U18, two U20 and two adult world championships. He made his debut in the “big” national team in 2014 under Ted Nolan.

Currently, “Dinamo” has full-fledged contracts with goalkeepers Stanislavs Galimovs and Ilya Proskurjakovs, defenders Morgan Elisa, Matthew Mayon, Roberts Mamčics, Kristaps Sotnieks, Ondržjs Vitasekss and Kristaps Zīlis, as well as with forwards Daniels Bērziņš, Pā Emil Gegger, Mike Indras, Konstantin Komarek, Jay Sie Lipon, Gint Mey, Zek Mitchell, Denis Parshin, Michael Redlich and Matt White.

Tomorrow, on August 24, “Dinamo” will play the first official test game. Opponents will be the Finnish Second League (Mestis) club Imatra “Kettera”.
