Dimensity 800U is MediaTek’s new processor with 5G

Yesterday we told you about the start of the 5G tender in Chile, if you wish get more details about this news, you can enter here. However, in this crazy race for 5G that involves nations and manufacturers, of the latter, MediaTek has given enough to talk about this new super high speed standard.

As it turns out, recently, the company has unveiled a new set of microprocessors oriented to the mid-range. We talk about MediaTek Dimensity 800U, an SoC that joins the Dimensity family and that allows to bring 5G connectivity to a larger park of equipment and users.

According to data from MediaTek, the new Dimensity 800U is a 11% faster in the CPU section and has 28% more GPU performance with respect to the Dimensity 720. This is due to its characteristics as an eight-core processor running at 2.4 GHz, its ARM Mali-G57MC3 quad-core graphics, or the support of LPDDR4x RAM memory up to 2133 MHz.

Other specifications that it has is its manufacture in lithograph only 7 nanometers, support of displays up to 120 Hz in Full HD + resolution and HDR10 +, a main multi-sensor camera with a maximum of 64 Megapixels, and UFS 2.1 storage.

As for connectivity, this SoC has 5G Dual SIM connectivity, supports NSA, SA and sub-6GHz networks in 5G. There’s also support for dual carrier aggregation in 5G and an Asian manufacturer’s own technology called MediaTek 5G UltraSave Technology for better energy consumption in networks 5G.

What do you think of the new MediaTek Dimensity 800U?
