This is a great opportunity to puff out your chest in Côte-d’Or! Dijon, Varois-et-Chaignot, Ouges and Ahuy are rewarded for their quality of life. The 4 municipalities appear in the top 50 towns and villages where life is good.
The ranking is published this Sunday in the JDD by the association of towns and villages where life is good.
Dijon, the only city in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region in the ranking
In detail, Dijon ranks 24th in terms of cities, also being the only city in the top 50 ranking for the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region.
For the villages, nice group shot from the Côte-d’Or which is in the ranking Ahuy (24th, first municipality in the region!), Varois-et-Chaignot (31st) and Ouges (39th). Already present last year, the three municipalities are progressing: a gain of 15 places for Ahuy, 13 places for Varois-et-Chaignot and 24 places for Ouges!
“Finally some good news, it warms the heart” rejoices Dominique Grimpret, the mayor of the town since 2014. “The geographical location of the town helps a lot”, with both the forest, the city and services such as the Valmy health centre. The chosen one also takes a share of the success, thanks to “a development of the village square, a successful meeting place in everyone’s opinion. We want to keep a village aspect, we don’t want 10-storey buildings!”
“Our situation corresponds to what citizens are looking for today.” Dominique Grimpret, the mayor of the commune of Ahuy.
Nice grouped shot from the Côte-d’Orient!
Overall, Côte-d’Or is one of the most valued departments for villages, along with Pyrénées-Atlantiques (4 villages in the top 50), Calvados (3 villages) and Côtes- d’Armor (3 towns).
