Hokkasen has 20 years of experience in the cultural sector and several educations in the field. He thinks that the salary of a washerman from Diil should have been correlated to experience and education.

Hokkanen says that he currently earns more than the salary offered to the head of the repair shop. Hokkanen lives in Tampere, where salaries are lower than in Helsinki, where Korjaamo is located.

– I work as a freelancer and as an entrepreneur, so it’s a bit difficult to compare this, but yes, I currently earn more than what that salary would have been, he says.

Competitors cannot disclose the Repair Shop manager’s salary to the public due to a non-disclosure agreement.

– Can the salary of the manager of such a big house be defined by who sells the most risk? That point has nothing to do with leadership skills, Hokkanen tells Iltalehte.

– Does the director of a large cultural house make social media or brand videos? No, it’s someone else. These tasks made me very nervous and the cloud castles started to crack when I realized that most of it is entertainment, and not the job search, he continues.

Twice as much

Biskop was also confused about the salary, and its smallness.

– It’s about time… I’ve worked a lot during my life and reached such a life situation that I have quite a reasonable income. I would have needed twice as much as what would have been paid for the position of manager, says Biskop.

Biskop justifies his opinion with responsibility.

– The manager always has responsibility and that means that the days are not eight hours long. Then you have to get reasonable compensation. When you also think about Southern Finland’s expenses in housing, for example, they are really much higher than, for example, I have here in Pietarsaari, Biskop reasons.

– It is a big responsibility and I think the compensation for the lost free time would have been too small.

Unclear wash

Sandra Rinta-Panttila I think the head of the repair shop should be quite grandiose. When he applied to the program, he had thought that it would be, for example, the position of CEO or someone else who would be responsible for the whole at least on an operational level.

– However, in the first assignment, it already became clear that the laundry will be modified according to the skills of the winner. That is, if there is a marketing expert, it would probably be a marketing director, and if there is a sales background, it would be suitable for that. So the title was known, but only later did I realize that I didn’t know what I was looking for, Rinta-Panttila describes to Iltalehte.

Since the manager’s job description remained unclear, Rinta-Panttila is not sure what she thinks about the salary.

– Pesti’s demanding level was not really revealed, although you can imagine that it is a rather demanding position when the job interview lasts six weeks. I think the salary would have been what marketing directors make on average.

– However, it would have been far too small a salary for the CEO. So at least it wasn’t the kind of thing that I would have applied there because of the salary.

Rinta-Panttila admits that she was not particularly interested in winning the program.

– I was more about challenging myself, gaining new experiences and seeing what the grits are enough for.

Jussi Haavisto also says that during his life he earned higher wages than what would have been paid for the job of a repair shop manager.

– In my opinion, the salary was not competitive, Haavisto tells Iltalehte.

Haavisto is not saddened by the fact that he was eliminated from the competition, and thus did not get to do the same for himself.

– It wasn’t necessarily my place or for me. That pesti values ​​traits in a leader that I don’t value myself.
