DIH.work supports small and medium-sized businesses with digital activities

LINZ. The city of Linz implements various activities to support small and medium-sized enterprises on their way into the digital world of work. A survey will be carried out by May 31st, which is supposed to form the basis for expanding digitization projects. Behind it stands DIH. work, which is intended to bundle scientific institutions and is currently still in the development phase.

The Digital Innovation Hub, or DIH.work for short, is intended as a contact point for small and medium-sized companies to support them on their way to the digital world of work. “This means that Linz acts as a hub in a broad network of regional, national and international institutes and companies. The DIH.work distinguishes itself as an innovation laboratory, which offers scientifically sound offers for digitization and makes knowledge usable for SMEs (small and medium-sized companies, note). With good management there is nothing left for a successful, broad network, ”says Linz Mayor Klaus Luger (SPÖ). The application deadline for management is June 6th. Those interested can find more information about the job posting at Website of the Linz Group.

Survey as a basis for specific support offers

According to the city of Linz, an exchange between cooperation partners from DIH.work and the employees of the SMEs is necessary in order to identify specific problems. The most effective support offers should therefore be generated with the help of a survey. This runs until May 31st online. Employees from small and medium-sized enterprises with fewer than 250 employees as well as one-person companies are invited to participate. Allow around ten minutes to answer the questions. You can win a tour of the Grand Garage in the tobacco factory in Linz or free use of the pop-up store on the Linz Innovation Main Square for one month.

At DIH.work, scientific institutions are to be bundled to support digitization in small and medium-sized enterprises. The measure is part of the “Digital Linz” program, the as reported provides for digital activities in different industries. According to the current status, there are 210,000 jobs in Linz, making the city the second largest economic area in Austria. Around 800 new companies are set up each year.
