Difficult with the goal scorer for Rögle and Everberg

Rögle has problems scoring goals right now and only managed one goal in the home match against Leksand which the guests won 1-3. Just like for the team, there has also been a bit of a troll in it for one of Rögle’s normally best goal scorers, Dennis Everberg.

Just as last time Rögle had a visit from Leksand in the Catena arena, it was the guests from Dalarna who could take three points. This time the final result was 1-3 in a match where they decided in the final seconds of the first period (1-2) and after 18 seconds of play in the second period (1-3). However, Rögle won the shot stat (34-23) and created a lot of chances but the guests were more effective. In terms of play, however, it was an approved effort by Rögle.
– I think we played quite well anyway and worked well. But right now we have a hard time putting our chances and that has been the case for a while, says Rögle’s forward Dennis Everberg after the match and does not want to say that Rögle has extra difficulty for Leksand in view of the meager dividend during the season against it made:
– No, I do not want to say that. It feels like it’s coincidences that decide. Do not feel that we have more difficulty for some teams than others.

Dennis Everberg is part of Rögle’s successful first chain, which also includes Daniel Zaar and Simon Ryfors. The trio has scored many points, but just like for the team, it has not been as easy lately. Everberg is listed for 17 goals during the sowing season, but it has been a while since the last goal was scored.
– Of course you want to score goals and help the team win matches. However, this is not something I ponder. Just as it is, I put a bag there and then everything can come loose. It is often like that and I am not worried, he explains and also tells about the situation when everyone, including himself, thought that the target drought was broken right at the beginning of the third period:
– It was a fight in front of goal and I hit a return under the goalkeeper. But apparently the referees judged that there had been contact on their goalkeeper and the case was ruled out. Must be honest and say I do not understand that rule and it is frustrating.

On Saturday, a new home match awaits in the season’s last regular season match for Rögle. The team still leads the SHL and the guests on Saturday are second Växjö and thus await the league final. However, it has been nibbled a bit at the edge because Växjö has four games fewer played and in the event of a loss against Rögle still has a few games to go past and to a series victory. But Rögle and Dennis Everberg are still looking forward to the end of the series.
– Of course we want to win on Saturday and then we will see what Växjö does in their remaining matches. It is up to us to recharge until then and actually do it in the same way as we have recharged before the first 51 matches. It would have been fun to beat Växjö and to win the last match before the playoffs, Dennis thinks and then goes briefly into how the team reloads for the playoffs, which for Rögle’s part begins on April 10 (at the time of writing):
– As the situation is, we have to rest in shape because we can not play in shape. We have to train and wait for two weeks and hope that it will be good. It is important that we can refocus because we have probably been a little too much in the playoffs in our thoughts for a while now. It has probably become so little depending on the nice autumn we had. There we got a head start which has meant that we have probably relaxed a bit. Unfortunately, we have therefore probably had a hard time being “here and now” lately.
