Differences in PDIP’s Warning to Ganjar Pranowo and “Colonel Council”

Jakarta

PDIP gave a verbal warning to the governor of Central Java, who is also a PDIP cadre Pranow Award in the aftermath of the “ready to strike” statement. In addition to Ganjar, the PDIP also warned colonel’s advice. The warnings received from Ganjar and the colonel’s advice were stated to be of a very different nature.

A strong warning against the “Council of Colonels” was broadcast by the PDIP DPP in a letter dated October 5, 2022. The PDIP pointed out that the formation of the Council of Colonels was not listed in the party’s AD / ART.

The letter reads ‘SORRY AND LAST NOTICE’. The contents of the letter explained that the formation of the Council of Colonels, loyal to Puan Maharani, was not known in the AD / ART or in the party regulations. Furthermore, the letter also pointed out that there was no military structure within the PDIP.

Hence, the letter also pointed out that the presidential candidate was the authority of PDIP President General Megawati Soekarnoputri, which was decided by the results of the PDIP V Congress. The PDIP claimed that the formation of the “Colonel Council” violated and that disciplinary and organizational sanctions would be imposed on cadres who violated it.

The letter was signed by PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto and Honorary Head of PDIP DPP Komarudin Watubun.

Reprimand in Ganjar

Not long after, the PDIP reprimanded Ganjar Pranowo for his statement that he was “ready to run for president”. The reprimand was verbal and pronounced by PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto and PDIP DPP President Komuardin Watubun at the PDIP headquarters, Jakarta, on Monday (24/10). This sanction was granted after the PDIP clarified Ganjar.

Ganjar’s statement stated that the DPP PDIP did not violate. However, Ganjar was still subject to sanctions due to the interpretations that followed.

“After we spread the clarification, even if I passed it to the media some time ago and after judging by the organizational rules even if it did not violate, this statement has caused multiple interpretations in public opinion,” Watubun said.

“So I said earlier that I would impose a verbal warning on Ganjar Pranowo,” he continued.
