Dietmar Hopp is a guest in the “Current Sports Studio” this Saturday evening. The interview with the Hoffenheim sponsor, who is hated in many places, will be broadcast on “ZDF” at 11 pm. The broadcaster had previously published a short video via Twitter, in which Hopp was very disappointed with the events that had taken place in many German football stadiums before the Corona crisis.

But not only the entrepreneur himself is criticized. Many users accuse the public broadcaster “ZDF” of not reporting objectively on the matter. Especially since, in contrast to other interview partners, there is no possibility to bring in questions from the online community.

Hopp had been hostile to German football stadiums for weeks before the Corona break. The escalation was triggered by a decision by the DFB Sports Court. This had lifted a probation for fans of Borussia Dortmund due to continued hate posters against Hopp and excluded all BVB supporters from compulsory games for their club in Sinsheim for the next two years. Collective punishments of this kind, which the DFB and then President Reinhard Grindel considered to be abolished in 2017, have met with vigorous rejection in the fan scene.
