“Semarang City Health Office has made various efforts to continue to suppress the incidence of DHF, one of which is by providing epidemiological personnel in all Puskesmas,” said Head of Semarang City Health Office, Abdul Hakam, in Semarang, Sunday (6/28/2020).

In addition, continued Abdul Hakam, capacity building for Gasurkes (Health Surveillance Officers), increasing Sicentik program (students looking for larvae) and One Home One Jumantik, as well as working across sectors to routinely hold PJN (Mosquito larvae Monitoring) simultaneously once a week .

“Besides that, the Semarang City Health Office has innovated by creating an integrated system called Tunggal Dara (United to Cope with Dengue Fever),” Abdul Hakam said.

According to Abdul Hakam, Tunggal Dara is a cross-sectoral information system that is a solution for the handling of DHF that is integrated by reporting and analyzing and disseminating information online to officers, stakeholders and the public.

He will continue to make efforts to improve education, PJN simultaneously, Sicentik and the One Friday One Home Movement (GSRSJ) to reduce the number of dengue sufferers in the city of Semarang.

“But with the Covid-19 pandemic and an appeal for physical distancing as well as carrying out activities inside the house, then the PJN activities are simultaneously replaced by PJN activities independently or the activities of the One Friday One Home Movement (GSRSJ). Because as long as there are mosquitoes and larvae, there are still dengue sufferers. “It is only necessary to suppress the spread, prevention and management of cases so as not to cause even more deaths,” he explained.

According to Abdul Hakam, Tunggal Dara represented the City of Semarang in the 2020 Public Service Innovation Competition (KIPP) and entered the Top 99 Public Service Innovations in 2020.
