DGT: In which cases can I get out by car without being fined during the coronavirus crisis? | Radio Vigo | Present

The General Directorate of Traffic has wanted to publish a practical guide to know when one can go by car while the state of alarm lasts. And it is likely to be extended beyond Easter, almost until May, and there have also been changes after the tightening of measures due to the state of alarm. The seven reasons why you can take the car are as follows:

  1. Buy food, pharmaceuticals and basic necessities (including buying the newspaper or going to the tobacco shop if you don’t have one nearby)
  2. Assistance to health centers, services or establishments.
  3. Commuting to work to carry out your labor, professional or business provision. Of course, essential workers must carry the documentation required by the Government that each company must issue in order not to be fined in a control.
  4. Return to the habitual place of residence.
  5. Assistance and care of the elderly, minors, dependents, people with disabilities or vulnerable people.
  6. Displacement to financial and insurance entities
  7. Due to force majeure or necessity.

The DGT also specifies that one person could go in the car except for the exception of being able to go two people as long as the recommendation to sit diagonally is respected. The second passenger will go in the right rear seat diagonally to the driver.
