DGS changes four leaders in a few weeks – Executive Digest

The General Directorate of Health (DGS) replaced four people who held positions of leadership and other coordination positions within a few weeks, but for those who think it was purposeful, the body denies, speaking only in a “coincidence”, according to ‘Público ‘.

One of the positions in which replacements took place was that of sub-directorate-general, previously occupied by Diogo Cruz and Catarina Sena, and which is currently under the responsibility of the hospital administrator, Vanessa Gouveia and the specialist in public health, Rui Portugal.

In addition to these, the DGS also counted on the outputs of the director of the Information and Analysis Services and the head of the Epidemiology and Statistics Division, both substitutes arrived last July, advances the same publication.

An official DGS source, quoted by ‘Público’, assures that these substitutions were not intended and that there are no differences in the organization of the response to the Covid-19 epidemic, as it is only “a coincidence”.

Diogo Cruz explained to Público that his decision had already been taken, even before the pandemic, but it ended up only just now, when “things stabilized a little” and a replacement was found.

«It was a temporal coincidence. My decision (to leave the post at DGS), had already been made before, is pre-covid, but I embraced this challenge body and soul and, now that things have stabilized a little, having been replaced, it was found that was the timing right. It was all calm and peaceful », he explained.
