Devolver Digital has expanded its first-party development efforts with the acquisition and welcomes Astroneer developer System Era to its family.
As System Erasaidthe deal will allow it to continue “focusing on delivering the highest quality experience to the most people in System Era’s unique style.”
However, this does not mean that the developer will change its brand or team, as System Era also certainly “Companies, brands and teams aren’t going anywhere. We will continue to move forward as before, only stronger!
As for what the move means for System Era, the developer noted that it has new ambitions that will allow it to make new games. Specifically, System Era stated: “This partnership, working internally with Devolver, allows us to focus on what we love, how we love it. We do not give up our independence easily.
As for what this means for Astroneer, we’re told that support for the game will continue and that a roadmap for 2024 has been outlined and implemented.
