Developer Q&A: PIONER MMO Shooter FAQs Answered

The developers of the MMO shooter PIONER, represented by the development manager, answered frequently asked questions about the game from the community that arose after watching the game trailer. Although some of them were given in the video itself, it would be useful to repeat them.

  • About penalties for death. In PvE this will be expressed as damage to equipment. Players will lose resources inside PvP zones and shadow lands. Not equipment, not weapons, not backpacks, but the resources for which you went on a sortie. If you got the impression from the trailer that there will be full loot in PvP, then you (like us) were mistaken.
  • The game is being developed on Unreal Engine 4, and there are no plans to switch to UE5 until the game is released. The new engine does not guarantee the success of the game – there are already examples.
  • In the trailers, the developers use even gameplay recorded on GeForce Experience.
  • There will be one region on the map with open PvP – the Shadowlands. In Middle-earth, PvP rules will only be partially implemented. In addition, separate rules will apply, the purpose of which is to avoid bullying of singles and to punish campers.
  • The story is played without PvP. At all.
  • The best equipment will also be available in PvE missions. We are talking about equipment blueprints and resources needed for crafting. But at the same time, the efficiency of production decreases in PvE zones. But they won’t kill you.
  • Raids are a PvE activity. They have their own plot and in-engine cutscenes, they will be complex and require upgraded equipment to close. Details will come later.
  • World bosses and game events have already been implemented in the game. But they will be shown later.
