Deutsche Bahn: Train drivers strike in Dresden too – Today (almost) nothing is going!

Dresden – “This train is canceled today”. Almost no matter where you want to go in the morning, there is identical ticker everywhere. The trains stay in the Dresden train stations stand. Only a few trips are actually offered. the Engine drivers strike does not stop at travelers and business commuters in the state capital.

Central station Dresden: The regional train 31 to Cossebaude, platform 2, at 6:08 a.m. – canceled.
Track 14 to Meißen Triebischtal, exit 6.09 – canceled.
6.10 a.m. Track 13, S2 in the direction of Pirna – not today.

Even if the weather is right and the Dresden train stations are usually covered, you should still look like a doused poodle on Wednesday morning.
Hardly any destination is actually approached. So all travelers who want to go to Zgorgelec at 6:31 a.m., for example, are lucky. According to the plan, your TLX RE1 will still be rolling from platform 10 of the main train station.
Via Dresden-Mitte, Dresden-Neustadt, Klotzsche, Radeberg, Arnsdorf, “Schiebock”, Bautzen and Löbau it finally goes to “Görli-Wood”.

Few of them have this luck. Overall, the majority of the trips are canceled. Destinations such as Pirna, Cossebaude, Warnemünde, Leipzig, Cottbus or Berlin are omitted in the morning.
While the train on the S1 (Meißen Triebischtal – Coswig – Dresden Hbf – Pirna – Bad Schandau / Schöna) plans to “run the line every 1 or 2 hours”, the trains should “run exclusively between Pirna and Coswig ” drive.
An emergency bus service has been set up, the railway continues.

Numerous train drivers followed the call of the German Train Drivers Union (GDL).
The strike is not only affecting rail customers in Saxony, but also in Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia thwart the bill.
In the eastern federal states in particular, a high level of strike participation was expected. This assumption is now true.
All customers have to “switch”. There is a corresponding threat of “huddling” in rush hour traffic.
75 percent of the trains are canceled not only on Wednesdays and Thursdays. The trains should not start running again until Friday.
The strike will therefore also have an impact on local public transport and road traffic. Many rail customers will increasingly have to rely on other modes of transport, which will inevitably lead to considerable additional traffic and waiting times during peak times.
