Deusto and Zorroza, heads and tails of a Bilbao confined by its high transmission of the virus | Radio Bilbao

350,000 people from Bilbao have been confined to the perimeter since last Tuesday and with restrictions on both sports practice and consumption in hospitality. Some restrictions that affect the entire city despite the fact that not all neighborhoods in the town have transmission levels that imply confinement.

The epidemiological bulletin of the Department of Health collects the contagion data of each integrated health organization (OSI) broken down by the different health centers corresponding to that health area. In the case of the Bilbao-Basurto OSI, the positives are distributed in 21 health zones of the city. 21 areas of Bilbao of which eight are not on red alert while thirteen have exceeded 400 cumulative incidence points.

Among this wide diversity of epidemiological situations, extremes are represented in the health zones of Zorroza and Deusto, heads and tails regarding the epidemiological situation in Bilbao. On Zorroza, the cumulative incidence is less than half that of the Basque Country as a whole: while the autonomous community presents 437 cases per 100,000 Basques, in this neighborhood that rate is at 212.39 points. In fact, in the last week the accumulated incidence in this neighborhood has dropped by 29%.

On the opposite side is Deusto: 859.13 points of accumulated incidence and a growth of this rate of 46% in the last week. It is the neighborhood with worst epidemiological situation and the second with a more negative evolution over the last seven days, only surpassed by the Begoña neighborhood.

In between, between these health zones, an amalgam of situations although with a majority trend: epidemiological worsening. That same aggravation of the situation that has condemned the city and eight health zones that are not in red to the perimeter closure and the interior of its bars.
