North Penajam Paser Regent (PPU) Abdul Gafur Mas’ud was named by the KPK as a suspect in the alleged bribery case and has been detained. He hopes that the people will stay motivated.
“Hopefully the PPU community will remain enthusiastic,” said Abdul Gafur when he was taken to the KPK detention car, Friday (1/14/2022).
He also wished his citizens in the blessings of Allah. Gafur refuses to talk about the case that ensnared him.
“Always in the grace of God,” he said.
Previously, the KPK won Abdul Gafur in an arrest operation at a mall in Jakarta. In total, there were 11 people arrested by the KPK in the OTT on Thursday (13/1).
After conducting an examination, the KPK named Abdul Gafur and five other people as suspects. The KPK suspects that Abdul Gafur ordered the Plt Sekda North Paser Sharpener and the Head of the Public Works Agency and the Head of the Education Office to collect money from project partners.
The project in question is a project multiyears in the Department of Public Works and Spatial Planning as well as the Department of Education, Youth and Sports with a total value of Rp 112 billion. The projects include the construction of Jalan Sotek-Bukit Subur with a contract value of Rp 58 billion and a library building project worth Rp 9.9 billion.
In addition, the KPK suspects that Abdul Gafur also received money for the issuance of permits for palm oil plantations and permits for crushing stones. Abdul Gafur is also suspected of receiving Rp 1 billion from a road project with a contract value of Rp 64 billion.
