Heat doesn’t stop donors! In this week when World Blood Donor Day took place (June 14), a large white tent is installed Place de la République, in Dijon. An exceptional collection is organized there on Wednesday 15 and Thursday 16 June 2022 by l’EFSthe French blood establishment. 600 appointments are open over the two daysand it is still possible to register – even if it is not obligatory to give.
Ambiance festive !
Under the tent and on the square, the atmosphere is festive and summery, with music, the presence of a magician and a caricaturist, a selfie machine, and pizzas for the post-donation snack. Be visible, attract the eye… and potential donors. It is the same logic as in 2021, with the collections organized at the time at the Museum of Fine Arts in Dijon, and at the Château du Clos de Vougeot.
It’s good to come but it’s even better to come back – Maxence Michelin, from the EFS
“From time to time, we try to carry out punching operations in strategic places, to bring light to our cause”, explains Maxence Michelin, head of the sampling department in Côte-d’Or. The EFS, which has need in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté for the equivalent of 600 donations per daystill faces the same challenge: recruiting new donors while retaining those who already donate. “We encourage donors to come regularly, you should know that a man can give up to 6 times and a woman 4 times a year.recalls Maxence Michelin. It’s good to come but it’s even better to come back”.
