Desert Landscapes: A Stunning Fallout New Vegas Mod by friendlynonmurderingsort

Fallout New Vegas has been out for quite some time, but the game has a strong fan community. The modder wanted to significantly transform the map, make the game world such that you would want to travel

Recently, the Desert Landscapes modification was introduced for Fallout New Vegas. The modder under the nickname friendlynonmurderingsort wanted to make the game world so beautiful and interesting that there would no longer be a desire to resort to the fast travel function.

He was inspired to create the Desert Landscapes project by his blog The Lucky Thirty Kate, where photos of real locations analogous to those that can be seen in Fallout New Vegas are published, and the resource also helped in the work Bird and Hike (the modder added vegetation using existing data).

This is not the first modification of friendlynonmurderingsort, so he dragged some things from his mod portfolio into Desert Landscapes. For example, mod Realistically Trashed Wateradding a “realistic amount of trash” to the Lake Mead area.

In general, the world of Fallout New Vegas not only changed in appearance, but also became more “alive”: in some locations it added packs of stray dogs, graffiti, posters and many other details (the list can be found in the mod description under the spoiler).

You can download Desert Landscapes for Fallout New Vegas at Nexus Mods link. According to the creator, the mod is unlikely to affect performance at all, since it is very well optimized.

Below are a few comparison shots of locations before (top) / after (bottom).
