While the first round of the departmental elections is scheduled for Sunday, June 20, France Bleu Gascogne and the newspaper Sud Ouest are organizing two debates bringing together the candidates. The first, this Tuesday, June 15, opposes Xavier Fortinon, the outgoing socialist president at Marie-Claire Dupouy, spokesperson for Europe Ecology – the Greens and Alain Dudon, leader of the candidates The Republicans. For 50 minutes, they were able to discuss their proposals concerning dependence, old age, social issues, but also the issue of speed on departmental roads (return to 90 km / h or maintenance at 80 km / h).

This Wednesday, a second debate will oppose three other candidates:
- Mathieu Ara, leader of the Couleurs Landes candidates
- Michel Dufay, leader of the National Rally candidates
- Bertrand Lataillade, spokesperson for the candidates of La France Insoumise
