Ukrainian refugees are allowed to live, work, receive financial support and receive medical care in the EU.
Administrative problem
Countries can decide for themselves how to arrange this. In our country, Ukrainian refugees fall into a new category and the health care administration cannot cope with that.
There are schemes for people without insurance, but they only reimburse treatments in the basic package, not including the dentist for adults.

Problems with declaring
The National Association of General Practitioners (LHV) had sounded the alarm last week. They face the same problem there: they get into trouble when claiming the health care costs of Ukrainians.
State Secretary Van der Burg of Justice and Security wrote to the House of Representatives this week that he wants to use existing regulations as a basis. “The basic principle here is to copy existing systems, contracts and entitlements as much as possible, as they are also included in the medical care scheme for asylum seekers.”
