Yesterday, Cornelia Ninova boasted of a large increase in exports. Everything in the economy was flowers and roses! I will not explain to Mrs. Ninova that our inflation is at a record high and people are poorer than a year ago. She should know it, writes GERB MP Delyan Dobrev.
Ms. Ninova, export growth comes from 3 pillars:
1. Growth in electricity exports
2. Growth in arms exports to “Poland” (not to be confused with Ukraine)
3. Growth in fuel exports to “Poland” (not to be confused with Ukraine)
Today I will only touch on the export of electricity:
For the first 6 months of 2021, 3 terawatt hours of electricity were exported at BGN 100 per megawatt hour, or this makes a total of BGN 300 million exports.
For the first 6 months of 2022, we exported 6.7 terawatt hours at BGN 400 per megawatt hour, or a total of BGN 2.7 billion.
As can be seen from this data, electricity exports have grown 9 times in nominal terms.
The war in Ukraine, the international situation, the famine in Africa, the new NASA James Webb telescope, Djokovic’s victory in the Wimbledon final, and finally Cornelia Ninova are credited for the growth in electricity exports.
