Delta Air Lines Shows Confidence in Boeing with Order of 100 737 MAX 10s

Delta Air Lines has also not lost confidence in Boeing despite the problems with the 737 MAX. Just like Ryanair, the American airline and major customer of Boeing believes in a good outcome.

Delta Air Lines has ordered 100 737 MAX 10s, the largest of the 737 family. Despite the problems at Boeing, CEO Ed Bastian made clear that he has confidence in the aircraft manufacturer. “Boeing is such an essential part of our industry, our history, and we need them to succeed. They are going through a difficult time. There’s no doubt about that. We fly more than 500 Boeing aircraft flawlessly every day.”

737 MAX remains in demand While the MAX 9 has had a turbulent existence, Boeing is busy with the certification of the MAX 10. The MAX 10 will undergo test flights until January 2024 to obtain the final FAA certification. But Delta Air Lines remains committed to its decision to purchase the largest 737 from Boeing. This is mainly because these aircraft are 20 to 30 percent more efficient than the aircraft they replace. The MAX’s efficiency is mainly due to the large LEAP-1B turbofans that can generate 28,000 pounds of thrust per engine and are quieter than less modern engines
