The assemblies to analyze the study plan and programs, as well as the redesign of free textbooksare the great opportunity for educational actors to promote the changes that the sector needs, said the head of the Ministry of Public Education (SEP), Delfina Gomez Alvarez.
Virtually leading the twentieth assembly for the analysis of the plan and study programs for basic education, which was held in Culiacán, Sinaloa, the secretary stressed that the discussion forums are part of a gradual process that collects proposals from all over the country. to complement the final materials of initial, preschool, primary and secondary education.
The federal official reiterated that convene open forums so that no teacher is left without participating and sharing their proposals, since it is a collegiate work that seeks the formation of better citizens.
He argued that teachers have historically fought for spaces to analyze, reflect, criticize and propose actions that benefit educational practice as well as students.
“The intention of the dependency is to listen and to know the proposals in the arduous task of improving the plan and the study programs of basic level”.
He assured that the New Mexican School intends to train empathic people and with the ability to serve othersabove all, in situations such as the pandemic that require even more teacher participation.
Male and female teachers, the key pieces of this transformation
For his part, the undersecretary of Higher Education, Luciano Concheiro Bórquez, commented that normal schools are working to change and update study plans and programs. He considered that 50% of the curriculum must be local to recognize regional specificities and propose a perspective for each federal entity.
After highlighting that a rural teacher occupies the governorship of Sinaloa, as is the case of Rubén Rocha Moya, he said that the National Pedagogical University is transforming itself to become a true national university, because the transformation in the country is deep and radical from of the commitment and enthusiasm of the teaching profession.
Concheiro Bórquez emphasized that teachers are the central subjects of this transformation and therefore their experiences are part of. For this reason, he pointed out, these consultations are key and bring a strong teaching.
