Delayed, Hubble Space Telescope Successor Ready to Ship

Hitekno.com – James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) who will be the successor of Hubble Space Telescope has completed its testing period.

Teleskop ini dirancang untuk menyelidiki misteri asal-usul alam semesta dan mempelajari tentang pembentukan bintang, planet, dan galaksi di masa lalu.

Sebelumnya, NASA berharap teleskop itu diluncurkan pada 2007. Namun karena penundaan akibat pendanaan hingga pandemi Covid-19, badan antariksa tersebut baru mencapai akhir pengujian pada 2021.

Dilansir dari CNET, Jumat (27/8/2021), persiapan pengiriman teleskop akan selesai pada September. JWST akan dikirim melalui Terusan Panama dan sampai ke Guyana Prancis di Amerika Selatan.

Peluncuran Teleskop Luar Angkasa James Webb dijadwalkan paling cepat pada 31 Oktober 2021 dengan bantuan roket Ariane 5.

Operasi sains JWST akan dimulai sekitar enam bulan setelah peluncuran jika semuanya berjalan sesuai rencana.

ESA itself calls JWST the next generation of great space science observatories.

The Hubble Space Telescope has now been operating for 31 years and it’s time for a new successor.
