Morocco approached FIFA with a complaint against the referee after losing by two goals to France in the semi-final. Referee Cesar Ramos is alleged to have denied two penalties in their favour.
France’s Theo Fernandez was booked by the referee for bringing down Moroccan Sophien Boufal inside the box in the first half. Along with that, the referee denied a penalty for dropping Moroccan player Semilam Amalla inside the box. Morocco’s complaint is that the referee assist video was not used correctly on these two occasions. The Moroccan federation has announced that it will strongly protest against Cesar Ramos, who controlled the match, and will do everything to obtain justice.
