The authorities have established a timetable for progressive deconfinement which spans several weeks.
Wearing a mask in transport is not the only measure to come into force on Monday. The factories will notably restart. Regarding shops, they can reopen without exception from May 11. The deconfinement begins this Monday, May 4, 2020, but beware, it will be progressive.

Effective Monday, May 4
- Wearing a mask becomes compulsory for people over 12 years old in public transport.
- Economically, telework will remain the norm, but industries will be able to resume their activities, notably haberdashery.
- As for physical activity, it will be extended to 2 people (in addition to those who live under the same roof), provided, always, that the safety distances are respected. In addition, outdoor sports without contact will be allowed such as jogging, fishing, tennis, or athletics. ((Find out more)
Effective Monday, May 11
A week later, we move to a higher level. It’s the turn of the shops to reopen without any size distinction, provided that customers can shop safely.
Effective May 18
The third stage will begin on Monday May 18. Hairdressers and museums may open on condition that social distances are applicable.
And then there is the smooth resumption of social life, with the possibility of organizing private meetings at home; invite more guests to weddings and funerals; and to practice an outdoor sport with more than 2 people.
And above all, it’s the return to the school bench of the pupils of 6th primary and last year of secondary school. In a second step, on May 25, it will be the turn of students in 1st and 2nd year of primary and 2nd secondary to make their return.
Effective June 8
The last phase will start on June 8, with a possible reopening of cafes, bars, restaurants and even cinemas. This step is still hypothetical and will have to be reassessed according to the evolution of the epidemic.
