Deco confident Barcelona currently preparing for the farewell match for Lionel Messi at Camp Nou. However, when this match will take place is still unknown.
Lionel Messi left Barcelona in 2021. He ended his association with El Barca which lasted 21 years.
La Pulga left after Barcelona was mired in financial problems and was unable to extend his contract. Messi then left for Paris Saint-Germain and now plays at Inter Miami.

After leaving Barcelona, news that Messi would return to the Catalan club appeared several times. This is offset by the improvement in Barcelona’s financial condition.
However, until now the news is just an issue. Messi never wore a Blaugrana uniform after leaving Camp Nou.
Messi’s former colleague who is now Barcelona’s Sports Director, Deco hopes that Messi can return to Camp Nou to play a farewell match with El Barca.
However, it seems that this will not happen in the near future. Deco estimates that this match will only be held when the Camp Nou has been renovated.

“I think it will be a farewell match, but maybe in the new stadium when it’s ready. He will always be the greatest idol in the history of the club,” said Deco to Lance!
“The club has great idols, like Cruyff, Ronaldo, but he is probably the greatest of all. He will definitely have a farewell match at Barcelona, but when that happens, we don’t know yet,” he explained.
