The federal and state governments have agreed on an extension of the financial aid for companies suffering from the corona pandemic. The special program of the state development bank KfW should be “extended”, it says in the decision published on Thursday by the federal and state governments. However, it does not mention a date.
The cabinet had already extended the special regulations on short-time work benefits until the end of March. The KfW special program offers fast and low-interest loans for companies. So far, the development bank has already provided more than 50 billion euros for this.
Chancellor Angela Merkel (CDU) emphasized that there will be bridging aid for the Advent markets that are particularly affected by the new corona protective measures. According to the resolution, the hardship aid, the federal special fund for trade fairs and exhibitions, the federal special fund for cultural events and a program for professional sport will also be extended.
