Regions with the most deceased
Lima is the region with the highest number of deaths due to COVID-19. This Saturday, 4,228 deaths from the disease were officially reported.
Meanwhile, the regions of the Piura, Lambayeque and Callao They also concentrate the largest numbers in this section.
The Situational Room reported that the three aforementioned regions present 737,731 and 596 deaths from the new coronavirus.

It is worth mentioning that on June 26, the Martín Vizcarra government decided to extend the state of emergency for the new coronavirus, COVID-19, until Friday, July 31, according to the Supreme Decree published tonight in the Official newspaper El Peruano.
The Supreme Decree also specifies that, as of July 1, the Executive’s strategy is focused quarantine. This implies that children and adolescents under the age of fourteen, as well as people in risk groups such as adults over 65 and those with comorbidities as determined by the National Health Authority, must continue in compulsory social isolation.
Peruvian scientists develop molecular tests to rule out COVID-19 in 40 minutes
A group of Peruvian scientists have just announced that they have developed a molecular discard test for COVID-19 that can give the result in 40 minutes. It is worth mentioning that this great work has been going on for several weeks and is led by neurobiology professor Edward Málaga.
