VG expands the case.

The Tønsberg woman finished the third round nine shots under par and shares the lead with Arya Jutanugarn from Thailand. Borge is 14 shots under par overall.

In other words, she is fighting for victory in her very first tournament on the LPGA tour. Borge is the first Norwegian player on the LPGA tour after Suzann Pettersen retired.

– It would have been fun to do as well as her. You can see that it is possible for Norwegian players to assert themselves, said Borge in an interview with Eurosport In february.

The tournament is called the LPGA Drive On Championship. There is a total of 1.75 million dollars, i.e. over 18 million Norwegian kroner, in the prize pool. The winner receives over NOK 2.7 million.

Borge was on the cut line after Thursday’s opening. A rock-solid round of four strokes under par on Friday meant that there was also play at the weekend.

The good play continued on Saturday. Eight birdies and one eagle – on hole 18 – as well as one bogey and the rest, ensured a cannon round of nine strokes under par.
