Khaled Mujahid, a spokesman for the Ministry of Health, said that 260 new cases that proved positive in laboratory analyzes of the virus were recorded, as part of the ministry’s surveillance and investigation procedures according to the guidelines of the World Health Organization, “pointing at the same time to 22 deaths.”
The spokesman stated that 68 new patients had been registered, bringing the total number of people recovering from the virus to 1,304 cases to date.
Mujahid said that all infected cases are subject to medical care in isolation hospitals, according to WHO guidelines.
In this regard, Mujahid revealed that, through the work of the committee formed by the decision of the Minister of Health and Population to search and investigate the causes of deaths from the emerging corona virus, it was found that there were 17 deaths out of the total deaths today and yesterday who died before reaching hospitals.
He added that 30 percent of the total number of deaths in Egypt died before reaching hospitals, in addition to 20 percent of deaths died within 48 hours of their arrival in hospitals due to the delay in their health condition upon arrival.
The Minister of Health and Population, Hala Zayed, calls on the citizens, as soon as there are any symptoms, to go to the nearest chest hospital or fever to receive the necessary care, so that the medical team can implement the updated treatment protocol upon arrival in order to preserve the lives of the citizens.
