The 17-year-old boy who was stabbed to death in The Hague in May may have been killed in revenge, the Public Prosecution Service suspects. According to the judiciary, a quarrel between rival drillrap groups seems to be the reason.
The boy was arrested on May 6 near a supermarket on Rijswijkseweg in The Hague stabbed and died on the spot from his injuries. Earlier in the evening, on Thijssestraat in the Laak district, stabbed a 14 year old boy. The teenager was seriously injured.
The 17-year-old victim can be seen on camera images during the earlier stabbing incident, as it turned out during the pro forma hearing in court today. According to the OM, the boy would have been stabbed in retaliation for the earlier stabbing.

The suspects are friends or family of the 14-year-old boy who was stabbed. According to the Public Prosecution Service, all signals point in the direction of revenge. A group chat, which has been seized, confirms that image, writes Broadcasting West.
“Someone has to go down after the stabbing on Thijssestraat”, the public prosecutor paraphrases a text in the chat at the session. “Knives and firearms must be taken.”
Whether it was actually an act of revenge against the boy, the public prosecutor expects to be able to determine in two months. Then the investigation is completed.
Eleven suspects arrested
A total of eleven suspects have been arrested, including relatives of the victim of the stabbing on Thijssestraat. Five of them, aged between 20 and 23, were due to appear in court for the first time today.
Pending the next hearing in three months’ time, the pre-trial detention of the five suspects has been extended by 90 days.
