British singer Tom Parker of pop band The Wanted died on Wednesday aged 33 from a brain tumour.
“It is with heavy hearts that we confirm that Tom passed away peacefully earlier today with his entire family by his side,” it said in a statement.
The Wanted, a boy band formed in 2009, made a name for itself in 2012 with the hit “Glad You Came” (listen below).
Tom Parker revealed his illness in October 2020. His cancer was inoperable. He was still on stage with his group at the start of the year and had organized a charity concert against cancer on September 20, 2021, at the Royal Albert Hall, in London.
In a message posted on its Instagram account, the group said it was “devastated by the tragic and premature death” of the young man.
“Tom was an amazing husband to Kelsey, and father to Aurelia and Bodhi,” the band added. “He was our brother, words cannot express the loss and sadness we feel. Forever in our hearts.”
