“Dead Cells” is a 2D action game called “Roguevania”, which is a combination of roguelike and Metroidvania. The main character, a mass of ugly cells, takes over the body of a fallen warrior and explores an island with a mysterious kingdom inhabited by monsters. Players use a variety of weapons and skills that can be obtained along the way to fight enemies, progress through randomly generated stages in various environments, and finally aim for the boss that awaits them. And if you die, you lose all the items you got so far and start over. However, there is a permanent unlock factor.

This work started early access distribution on Steam in May 2017, and was officially released in August 2018. At the same time, the console version was also released, and it was later ported to mobile. This work, which continues to be developed even after the official release, has delivered 34 free updates and 4 types of paid DLC so far. In addition to adding content such as new stages, characters, and items, collaborations with other works were also performed. Most recently, a DLC collaboration with Konami’s “Akumajo Dracula” was released, surprising users.
