“It is a female specimen in her thirties that was still alive on Saturday. She was ill and swam into the harbor of Calais. But she got too close to the rocks and succumbed,” said Jacky Karpouzopoulos, president of the Mammal Coordination of Northern France, CMNF.
The animal will be towed to an autopsy area Monday afternoon, he added.
