Antoinette de Jong started the KPN NK all-round in Heerenveen well. The 24-year-old skater won the first distance in 38.95 and was by far the fastest on the ice in Thialf.
Melissa Wijfje finished second in 39.17 and therefore traps 1.32 seconds behind De Jong in the 3.000 meters. Joy Beune, who won the 500 meters last year at the Dutch Allround Championships, now scored the third fastest time (39.43). She has to make up for 2.88 on the three kilometers at De Jong.
Defending champion Carlijn Achtereekte became fourth (40.15) and is 7.20 seconds behind De Jong on the 3.000 meters, the distance at which Achtereekte is Olympic champion. Esmee Visser, who was good for bronze last year, recorded the sixteenth fastest time in the 500 meters (41.42).
