The Bijenkorf branch in Amsterdam has to be closed, because infections have been detected among employees there. The security region has decided that, reports the Township Tuesday. People who have recently visited the department store and have complaints are urged to get tested for the corona virus.
The store will remain closed for a maximum of two weeks and that period starts on Wednesday. The closure can only be lifted when the Bijenkorf has taken “convincing measures” to prevent new infections.
Employees in different departments and floors were tested positive for the corona virus. It is not known how many employees were infected, but it is clear that a number went to work while they were contagious.
The GGD advises employees who worked at the department store between 4 and 18 August to remain in quarantine for two weeks.
