Dazzling Price Tag For Kristen Stewart’s ‘Diana Wig’ | Movie

FilmActress Kristen Stewart (31) was transformed into Princess Diana for the film ‘Spencer’. And that transformation did cost some money, a lot of money in fact. Just for the wig Stewart wears to look more like Diana, a thick $ 6000 (about 5200 euros) was deposited.

According to hair and makeup artist Wakan Yoshihara, two copies were made, each costing $6,000 and taking six weeks to make: “I think I colored the wig three times before meeting Kristen,” Yoshihara says. “When Kristen first tried on the wig, I knew the color wasn’t right and I recolored it.”

“Kristen didn’t want to wear a wig at first,” she continues. “I don’t think she had any real experience with really good wigs. However, we received positive feedback on the wig and make-up combination and she was very happy and confident in the end.” Yoshihara was commissioned by ‘Spencer’ director Pablo Larraín to transform Diana into Kristen Stewart and not the other way around. For example, the color of the wig was adapted to the skin color of the actress, to make everything look as natural as possible.

Also, director Larraín didn’t necessarily want to stay true to the period in which the film is set, December 1991. “Diana had quite short hair at the time, so initially I showed Larraín pictures of that look,” says Yoshihara. “However, he gave me photos of her 1986 hairstyle,” she continues. “Diana was much happier then and had longer hair. So I looked for similar photos to mimic that style.”

‘Spencer’ will be released in our country on December 15.
