Rio de Janeiro – The German Davis Cup team hopes to host one of the four groups after reaching the group stage.
“If it were in Germany, it would of course be a huge thing and a huge highlight for everyone in the team,” said team manager Michael Kohlmann after the 3-1 win in the first round match in Brazil in Rio de Janeiro.
The group stage will be played at four different locations between September 14th and 18th. The German Tennis Association has already announced that one of the four groups is being considered for membership. The top two teams from each of the four groups of four advance to the finals, which will take place on November 23-27. It is not yet clear where this will take place.
