Daughter of César Duarte promotes amparo to avoid arrest

Mexico City.- Bertha Isabel Duarte Gómez filed an injunction to avoid any arrest warrant against her and a possible request for “provisional” detention for extradition purposes.

Julio Veredín Sena, Seventh District Judge for Amparo in Criminal Matters, has not accepted the petition for processing and asked the daughter of the former Chihuahua governor to clarify the demand since it was considered “confusing.”

For this purpose, Bertha Isabel Duarte has a period of five days to clearly refer what the facts and abstentions are with respect to the criminal case indicated in said amparo; if not, the corresponding law will be agreed.

The judge added that he must provide data that could be useful to make the corresponding decision in the amparo trial.
