D’Artagnan (François Civil) moves from sleepy Gascony in southwestern France to the heart of the nation: Paris. There he joins the king’s three musketeers – Athos (Vincent Cassel), Porthos (Pio Marmaï) and Aramis (Romain Duris). The quartet wants to ensure stability in a country divided by religious wars and threatened by the British army.
But first they have to track down Cardinal Richelieu (Eric Ruf), who has dark plans. Things don’t really get serious for D’Artagnan until he loses his heart to Constance Bonacieux (Lyna Khoudri), a confidant of the queen. Because the proximity to her also draws the attention of shady characters to him. So Milady de Winter (Eva Green) quickly sets his sights on his life. (movie starts)
