Faced with an unprecedented shortage of infant milk, the United States has more than doubled its orders from Danone since March.
Danone announced Wednesday that it has more than doubled since March its deliveries to the United States of Neocate, a food substitute for babies allergic to cow’s milk.
The United States is experiencing an unprecedented shortage of infant formula, aggravated by the recall launched in February by the Abbott laboratory of products suspected of having
resulted in the death of two infants.
Danone told Reuters it was in discussions with U.S. authorities to determine what additional steps it could take to alleviate the shortage.
