The race in Hungary was the first of the season in which the AlphaTauri team did not earn points – Daniil Quat finished twelfth, and Pierre Gasly came down due to problems with the power plant and gearbox.
Daniel Quat (12th): “I am pleased with my pace in today’s race. On the first lap I overtook several cars and chose the right moment to go to slicks. However, after pit stops, I was behind rivals, who overtook in the first round. You need to review the race to understand how it happened. I believe that we had a chance to earn points, so I’m not very happy for twelfth place.
Together with the engineers, I continue to deal with the features of the car – in three races we found out a lot. Each circle is important, and we will continue to try different settings to find the ones that suit the car and my style of flying at Silverstone. “
Pierre Gasley (gathering): “A very difficult weekend for us. For certain reasons, we constantly had different problems. Today at the beginning of the race there were problems with the power plant, because of which it was difficult for me to shift gears. We tried to fix it directly on the track, but failed and had to get off. Sorry, but we just had no luck the whole weekend.
The team has several days to prepare for the stage at Silverstone. I hope the next weekend will work out better. “
