Orsato’s precedents with Naples and Turin
The balance with Orsato was not a happy one for the Granata, with defeats clearly prevailing over victories and draws. In total, out of 28 matches refereed by him, the Granata had lost 14 matches, won 5 and drawn 9. There were 40 precedents against Napoli with the first match dating back to 2008 (but he had never refereed Napoli-Turin). Remaining in recent times the Azzurri they had lost 8 of the last 15 matches with Orsato blowing the whistle, with only 2 victories.
Orsato booked four players
Assisted by assistants Preti and Scarpa, with Perenzoni the fourth man, Get Valerie and Marini at Avar the referee warned 4 players, two of which from the Calzona team: pt 32′ Zapata, pt 35′ Osimhen, pt 39′ Juan Jesus, pt 48′ Buongiorno

Naples-Turin, the slow-motion cases
These are the main dubious episodes. In the 2nd minute, a late intervention by Buongiorno hits Osimhen at knee height: only a reprimand from Orsato but there could have been a yellow card. Protests by Napoli in the 64th minute following Torino’s goal: the carom from which Sanabria’s overhead kick resulted was however legal. In the 68th minute Zapata, already booked, flaunts his arms and hits Lobotka: Orsato whistles for the foul but he doesn’t warn, pardoning the Colombian. Subsequently Linetty commits yellow card interventions twice but the referee does not intervene. In the 86th minute Buongiorno pushes Osimhen with his high arm in the penalty area. There is contact but Orsato lets it go, unleashing the anger of the Azzurri.
For Marelli there was no penalty on Osimhen
Dazn expert Luca Marelli clarifies this by starting from Osimhen’s elbow on Buongiorno: “There is no violent conduct in this case, Orsato doesn’t even realize the extent of the contact, which was very slight and involuntary . It stays though an imprudent movementthe fourth official probably suggested yellow, a correct decision due to imprudence.”
On the missed warnings from Linetty and Zapata he then says: “The first foul on Kvaratskhelia, with his back to the goal, is a contact that can be overlooked. On Juan Jesus he is clearly behind, Orsato is well positioned, strange that he didn’t warn. I repeat, the first one could have been overlooked instead. Zapata’s failure to book a yellow card for a foul on Lobotka is instead correct, a very slight contact in terms of severity.”
Finally on the penalty denied to Osimhen he states: “We heard some avoidable things, like when Mario Rui called Orsato a phenomenon, it was The race director was good at pretending not to hear. For me he did well not to concede the penalty. In my opinion there is nothing, to impose a penalty you need a more sustained contact, there is contact between the arm and back for a position but it is not a penalty.” However, it should also be noted that Napoli-Turin ended without additional minutes of injury time despite the fragmented play at the end.
