Arsenal talent Daniel Oyegoke will sign for Brentford after rejecting a new contract, according to West London Sport.

The Bees are looking to draft for their first season in the Premier League, but that won’t take them away from their vision of building their B-team as well.

Oyegoke is his next target, and a deal is believed to be near for the teenager to swap North London for West London.

Arsenal’s Oyegoke’s ‘surprise’ snub

The 18-year-old is said to have turned down a new professional contract to stay at Arsenal, and his current sex contract will end in a matter of days.

Goal’s Arsenal correspondent Charles Watts has admitted the decision is a “surprise” as it was apparently believed that he would stay.

Instead, Oyegoke has decided he wants to leave, and Brentford isn’t wasting his time trying to sign him up.

Who else has joined Brentford from Arsenal?

Previously at Barnet, right-back Oyegoke will now look to follow in midfielder Josh Dasilva’s footsteps.

Da Silva joined Brentford under similar circumstances in 2018, rejecting a new deal with Arsenal and joining the Bees, becoming a first-team player.

Defenders Fin Stevens and Dominic Thompson were also in Arsenal’s ranks before heading to Brentford, and Oyegoke now appears ready to join them.
