It seems to us that if we leave only history to move the negotiations forward, this will not give a good enough result for both sides. So we will open additional discussions on economic progress between the two countries, and the historical discussion will run in parallel. So that both sides are satisfied. This was stated to bTV Radio by Daniel Lorer from “We continue the change” on the occasion of the dispute between Northern Macedonia and Bulgaria.
“So far, we believe that the work of the historical commission does not offer progress and both sides feel dissatisfied with what is happening and we need to find a new formula. Its function should be supportive, but not the only one in this process.
“The dispute is deep and we know that our peoples in the Balkans are bound by a very long history. These discussions must go their own way. This is happening between all the neighboring peoples of the Balkans and there is no way this is the only way for us to talk. them, ”he added.
Asked whether he would be nominated for foreign minister, Laurer did not deny, but did not confirm.
“Obviously we have some ideas for positions in our team, but all this is to be finalized as a result of the coalition negotiations that are coming in the coming weeks. “Comments from the Republic of Northern Macedonia, which comment on our previous statements, should not affect the decisions in our country,” he said.
According to him, December 14, when the last summit of the European Union will take place for the year, is an unrealistically short deadline for reaching a comprehensive agreement.
Daniel Laurer also commented on the ongoing negotiations for a ruling coalition.
“During our first meetings, everyone made a request that they were ready to participate and put aside their party ego so that we could all work for a coalition program that we could implement together for the good of Bulgaria. We hope that the working groups will work by the middle of next week at the latest in the various sectors of the Bulgarian economy. “
He added that so far no one has disagreed with Kiril Petkov’s nomination for prime minister.
