Dallas Stars Spin Game at Anaheim Ducks – Assist by Raffl – Winter Sports – Ice Hockey

With a tour de force, the Dallas Stars (37-25-3) conquered the Anaheim Ducks (27-30-11) 3-2 and are back in the NHL west on a wild card spot for the playoffs for the Stanley Cup .

Michael Raffl from Villach initiates the lead for the guests with his ninth assist of the season. After preliminary work by the 33-year-old from Carinthia, Luke Glendening prepared the goal for Radek Faksa (15th).

In the second third, the Ducks turn the game. Goals from Derek Grant (24′) and Troy Terry (29′) gave the home team a 2-1 lead, but they ended up falling off the ice with their tenth loss in a row.

Roope Hintz (49th) with his 29th goal of the season and Jacob Peterson (53rd) let the stars cheer at the Honda Center in Anaheim. “We won’t let the result fool us.” said Dallas coach Rick Bowness after the game. “The most important thing was that we played stars hockey.”

Hintz is currently the life insurance of the stars, the 25-year-old Finn has recorded six goals and one assist in the last five games. The two teams will meet again in Anaheim on Friday night.

Auston Matthews scores his 49th goal of the season

In the wild 6:4 win of the Maple Leafs (42-19-5) over the Boston Bruins (41-20-5), Auston Matthews scored the 5:1 (37th) on the power play.

The 24-year-old American takes the lead in the NHL scoring list again, one goal ahead of Germany’s Leon Draisaitl.

The Minnesota Wild (41-20-4) are also continuing their run of success.

The team of Vorarlberger Marco Rossi, who however plays in the farm team Iowa Wild in the AHL, celebrates the seventh win in a row with the 4:1 home triumph against the Philadelphia Flyers.

Fleury shines in wild goal, Flyers out of playoff race

Star goalie Marc-Andre Fleury becomes player of the evening in his second game for the Wild. The 37-year-old Canadian saved 32 shots to his goal in his 930th NHL game.

While the Wild are third in the Western Conference behind Colorado and Calgary – the Avalanche win the summit against the Flames 2-1 – the playoff draw for the Flyers (21-35-11) is 1st :4 at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul.
