The race in Saudi Arabia from the very beginning was not easy for the crew of Eduard Nikolaev, and at the last fifth stage the car stopped at 165 km due to a motor breakdown. Yesterday, the engine was repaired by replacing the cylinder block gasket – and continued driving, but today it refused again.
Today, the crew started on five working cylinders – in the morning there was no time to repair the machine, and on the 33rd kilometer of the special stage the engine finally failed.
From the bottom of the engine, from the pallet, part of the crank mechanism flew out due to vibration. The whole machine is doused with oil and stands motionless on a sandy plateau. The crew is fine. KAMAZ-master management sent a technical assistance vehicle
for the evacuation of equipment and crew.
