Cyberpunk 2077 hotfix to prevent corrupt savegames – Gaming – News

CD Projekt RED has released hotfix 1.06 for Cyberpunk 2077. The minor update removes the file size limit for savegames, preventing them from becoming corrupted. That had to do with the maximum file size.

Before the hotfix, save games could be up to 8MB in size on the PC version and that resulted in corrupted files on some players. If a temporary solution CD Projekt RED indicated earlier this week that players should keep fewer items in order to reduce file size. The developer said to consider adjusting the file size limit and has now done so. Save games that were already corrupt cannot be saved. The hotfix does not change that.

Hotfix 1.06 also appears for the console versions of the game, although those versions do not have to do with corrupt savegames. According to CD Projekt RED, version 1.06 for consoles includes improved memory management and stability, which should result in fewer crashes.

Also fixed an error that could occur during a mission, that applies to both the PC and console versions. The list of improvements only contains these three points. It is therefore a hotfix, a quick update that has been released to solve the problem with the savegames. CD Project RED has promised several major updates to fix bugs and improve stability.
