Cyber Monday 2021. What promotions can you count on on this day?
The phrase Cyber Monday was first used in 2005. The aim of the campaign was to draw customers’ attention to purchases via internet. From that moment on, and in the times of the coronavirus epidemic, it was this purchasing model that became more popular. Nevertheless, the promotional campaigns are still ongoing and nowadays they are usually just an extension of Black Friday. In 2020, reductions within Black Friday in 82 percent stores have been extended until Monday, which is also a trend coming from the United States.
Cyber Monday is basically about discounts in online stores most popular with buyers. On this day, there may be additional discounts in clothing or footwear stores and free home delivery. Digital Monday also means discounts on digital products – for example courses on-line, paid application and games computers and consoles.
On this day, larger discounts are usually also offered on the subscription for some services, for example in VOD services or at console manufacturers. Cyber Monday, as well as Black Week, however, has a greater risk of fraud.

Threat of fraud during Black Week. What to remember when shopping online?
Cybersecurity company – Check Point reports that the problem of phishing during Black Week increases by up to 440% compared to the normal day. During Cyber Monday, it is worth remembering the safety rules:
- carefully checking the pages on which we intend to shop,
- avoiding clicking on links or ads from suspicious messages,
- providing only necessary personal data,
- using only known online payment systems.
You also need to read the terms of the promotion carefully, as they do not always turn out to be as favorable as they tout it ads. For example, non-cancellation or termination penalties should be avoided.
